LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens

LEGO awakens another building block in the Star Wars franchise.

In a move that surprised 5 people across the known galaxy, the LEGO games franchise woke up in February, turning its attention back to the colossus that is Star Wars, with a tie in game for The Force Awakens.

The self-aware humour is wonderful, and developer Traveller’s Tales can’t be faulted for making enjoyable games out of the franchises they’ve been given access to. If you’re coming to one particular LEGO game in isolation never having played any of them before, then they’re a worthy addition to your collection. But the mechanics of the games haven’t changed much in 10 years, so the new addition of cover-based sections and brick-building choices may have some large holes to fill in the attention span of those who’ve played a LEGO game or two before.

Who am I kidding? It’s Star Wars and LEGO, it could be a pinball simulator and still make more money than unicorn burgers at McDonalds. LEGO Star Wars: The Force awakens is out on June 28th, on every format imaginable, even gracing the PS Vita.

If you (or your kids) are gaga for LEGO Star Wars, GameInformer have a whole month’s worth of interviews with Traveller’s Tales for you to delve in to.
