What lies beyond and below Death’s door?

Xbox and PC exclusive rogue-like (it’s a good month for that term, it seems) Below was first shown at E3 2013, and the two and a half years since have produced what looks like a glorious little game. Dark Souls from 200 feet in the air, the tilt-shift style of (randomly generated) landscape display, and the tiny adventurer you control are going to make good use of that 4K TV you treated yourself to.

The looming feeling of murky distrust in the caves you explore looks to translate well from the 3rd person Souls-a-likes, and the “brutal but fair combat” may test your skills more so given the pixel-sized protagonist – a combo we’ve yet to see, why Below stood out when it was announced, and why it’s still intriguing today.
